It's been 8 months since we started out with our first cohort of Chimoney ambassadors, and what a journey it has been! Our awesome ambassadors have represented us with great expertise, and their teamwork has been truly inspiring. Looking back, it's incredible to see how far we've come. So, let's take a trip down memory lane together and see how a simple idea grew into an amazing program!

We went from having 5 ambassadors in our first cohort to onboarding 8 more ambassadors in our second cohort. Honestly, we were spoilt for choice because many of the applicants stood out. Keeping in mind that having a diverse set of individuals who possess different skills is what makes a community thrive, we actively sought out passionate individuals to contribute their skills to our community. Throughout the two cohorts we've had so far, we've succeeded. Our community includes technical writers, developers, product designers, and content creators - we've got it all! This diversity has proven to be invaluable when executing our community projects, which the ambassadors have contributed to greatly. These projects include community events, open-source challenges, product launches, and even technical blog writing.

It's crucial to recognize the individual contributions that made the collective success of our ambassadors possible. Our community wouldn't be where it is today without their exceptional input!

Here are some of the projects they've been working on:

The Community Site Open Source Challenge: This project is all about the Chimoney Community and is run by the ChiMers (Chimoney Community Members). It's a content hub for all the contributions and initiatives of the community.

• The design team, led by Waris Akorede and Ujah Emmanuel, created an amazing layout for the Chimoney site, which you can check out here.

• The developer team, led by Khadeejah, is making incredible progress on the website, as you can see from the preview of our community site.

• The technical writing team: Our very own Oyinda has been leading the team, and they've produced some fantastic blogs so far. Take a sneak peek at a few of them hosted on our community blog!

Community Events: Our community has hosted several events, and our ambassadors have been the driving force behind the planning and execution of each one. Our latest event, "Contributing to Open Source as a Developer and Technical Writer," was their brainchild and a resounding success!

The ambassadors have been part of the success of our product launches and marketing efforts. Their contributions during product reviews have been nothing short of remarkable, providing us with feedback and insights that have helped us improve and provide a better experience for our users. They have also been actively involved in promoting our product launches on social media, generating excitement among their networks, and helping us expand our reach to new audiences. Additionally, they’ve been creating and sharing content about our products, including blog posts, videos and social media posts which have helped us showcase the unique features and benefits of our products and increase awareness among potential customers.

And we finally announced our first cohort of Gold Ambassadors who've worked to gain their achievement! These are ambassadors who are passionate and have proven their ability to use their skills to advance the community. Check out who they are here

As we look back on our ambassador community's successes, we've learned some important lessons about working together. One thing we've found is that having a team with different skills and viewpoints is helpful - it allows us to solve tough problems from different angles. We've also realised that good communication and setting clear goals are super important. By checking in often and making sure we're all on the same page, we're able to stay focused and work together more effectively. Lastly, we've seen how important it is to recognize and celebrate each other's hard work. This has boosted our team's spirit and encouraged everyone to keep striving for success.
